About

EddaVault is a practical guide for people who want to take back ownership of their entertainment and digital life.

Streaming services are convenient, but they also mean paying continuously for access to movies and shows that can disappear at any time. EddaVault explores another approach: building a collection you control through physical media, local media servers, NAS storage and reliable backups.

The site covers topics including:

  • DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray
  • Plex, Jellyfin and Emby
  • NAS systems and storage
  • Home media servers
  • Home cinema
  • Collection management
  • Digital ownership and streaming alternatives

Why I Started EddaVault

I started buying physical media again because I was tired of paying for several streaming services without really owning anything.

I am not completely against streaming. It is still convenient, and it has its place. But I want to own the movies and shows that matter to me and be able to watch them without depending entirely on subscriptions, licensing agreements or internet access.

I already had DVDs and Blu-rays from years ago, and I recently started rebuilding my collection with used Blu-rays. I am also interested in Plex, Jellyfin, NAS systems, backups and creating a local media library at home.

EddaVault is where I document that journey and share practical guides for others who want to do the same.

The Goal

The goal is not to make digital ownership complicated or expensive.

EddaVault aims to provide honest, beginner-friendly information that helps people make better choices about physical media, home media servers, storage and long-term access to their entertainment.

Own your entertainment. Own your digital life.
